About me
Learning through Music
I have over 15 years of musical experience and have been playing piano since I was five years old. I spent five years in high school band playing flute and clarinet, which deepened my understanding of music as a whole. I also studied music at the college level, strengthening my knowledge of music theory and performance.
I currently serve as a member of the worship team at Big House Church, where I sing and play piano. I have a deep passion not only for music, but for understanding how it works and why it matters. I believe music is a gift from God, and teaching allows me to share that gift with others by helping students build confidence, understanding, and a lasting appreciation for music.
My Why
My why comes from how music has supported me throughout my life. Music has been a place of peace, focus, and expression during both joyful and challenging seasons. Learning and understanding music helped me build confidence, discipline, and patience, and it became a steady outlet when life felt overwhelming.
My Services and Pricing
Beginner Piano Lessons
I offer in person (to your house) beginner piano lessons for students with little to no experience. In lessons, students develop strong sight-reading skills, confident note recognition and memorization, and a clear understanding of music theory. I focus on helping students read music fluently, recognize patterns, and understand how rhythm, chords, and scales work together — so they aren’t just memorizing songs, but truly learning how to play and think musically.
Starting $30 / half hour
$60 full lesson (60 mins)
Additional $10 for out of Norfolk/Virginia Beach Area

I require students to have *Faber Piano Adventures Primer Level Lesson Books (or higher level depending on experience):

Students should have access to a piano or full-sized keyboard for each lesson.
Please purchase the Faber Piano Adventures, 2nd Edition – Primer Level books prior to beginning lessons (student books only).
